First LEAD Site in Eastern Washington Comes to Walla Walla

We are excited to announce that Blue Mountain Heart to Heart and Comprehensive Mental Health have been awarded the first Law Enforcement Assisted Diversion (LEAD) program east of the Cascades. LEAD uses a harm reduction model of care and an individualized case management strategy to support individuals with drug addiction who are not well served by other interventions. LEAD is evidence-based, community informed, and collaborative so that providers can cut through the limitations of their own organizations and programs to better care for people who need long-term support. We are in the planning stage right now and assembling a working group. As more details are available, we and CMH will share them with the public—there will be opportunities to engage this work as we get started.
